I've driven 914's since 1970 and still have my first car, a now highly modified 914-4. Also had an original and rarer '71 914-6 for over 10 years. If this car is everything they say it is it is worth some serious $$ and probably cheaper than restoring a lesser car. Hasn't met the reserve at $23000?? Don't know if it's worth more than that... some used Boxsters aren't worth much more are they? Great car- it's what it's worth to YOU.

Out of curiosity I contacted the seller and he told me the car is listed at $27500. While I'm sure it's getting lots of attention . . . at that price your competing with some other really great Porsches (i.e. pre '89 911's). Basically you've gotta really "want" this car to pay that price and if cash was not an issue . . . heck I'd buy it.

It appears (a key word in online ads) to be a very clean and correct car; clearly better than a lot of the crap that gets listed on ebay! But from what I have seen, few if any stock 914-6's have been fetching more than $20K in the last couple of years. It's been a buyers' market and I would be pretty shocked if this seller gets 27.5 anytime soon regardless how nice the car is.

Thanks everyone for your input.
It would appear as though the car did sell. After the auction closed without the reserve being met, it was relisted and then closed early after less than one day. My guess would be a previous bidder emailed the seller and agreed upon a price, probably very close to the asking $27.5K.
