Default 914/6 Transmission Removal Without Engine

Hi everyone, glad to be aboard! I would like to take the tranny out of my 914/6 without taking out the engine. Any experience and detailed instructions out there?

Try 914 world- but in my opinion, and I've taken the engine/transaxle out of my 914's too many times to count- it is easier to remove engine and transaxle together, and then separate. Also a LOT easier to put back together, aligning the main shaft of the transaxle into the flywheel.

Just my humble opinion...

yes I have the procedure written in my 914 book "Tech Tips 700". Takes about 20 minutes to remove the box

Thanks dr914 others in the Porsche world have told me if all I want is the tranny off then do it without the engine. I will surely get a copy. What is the best way?

Please this is not a solicitation, so I will not post a link, but the book is really helpful. On our site, autoatlanta or a phone call away 800 792 4944 just put "tech tips 700" into the search
