Default 912 is roadworthy.

After eight months of teardown, cleanup, and reassembly my 68 912 is off the jack stands and back on the road. New pistons, cylinders, bearings, seals, valves, valve guides, cam, tappets, pushrods and more stuff then I can even remember at this point.

Damn it was good to hear it fire up and even better to get it out for a spin. I still need to dial in the carbs and the timing but very happy with the extra punch of the big bore pistons and street cam.

Photos to follow.

Love these threads. I envy people with the skill sets to do things like this. Anything I touched would probably never run again, lol!

Engine ready to go back in.

After short trips around town time for first road trip. I am so happy with the big bore Pistons, cylinders and street cam from Shasta design. Car runs better then I was hoping for.

Jaime, a big thank you to you. Every time I would get stumped about something I would go to your thread and find the answer. Your thread is a great resource.
