Ordered some Copper Weld-Through Primer... also picking up some inexpensive inline air shears to make it easy to cut the sheet metal.

Could not get much done tonight... long day at work...
Installed the front wheels and placed a motorcycle jack/lift in the back and rolled it out to open the doors completly. Seats and carpet removed... Lift points repositioned so that the lift does not interfere with removing the floor pans.
Also ordered the Floor board mount, right, since it was badly rusted as well...

Well... work has kept me on the phone and in front of the computer until late hours... so not much work done in the car. Today is no different... still on back to back calls... anyway, got some sheet metal today ( 2'x4' gauge 18 ).
I hope to have some time tomorrow to work in the car... want to remove rear glass and start on the removing of the rear parcel shelf.

Removing trim on rear glass... slide center connector/cover... using one of those plastic trim removers press on rubber. Best if done from the side of the glass (not like in the first photo) as it will disengage the trim from the rubber...
Easy does it... continue to slide and press...pressing on the rubber so that it releases the trim
Press on the outside, then the inside and the trim should come out...pressing on the rubber so that it releases the trim
With the trim all out, going to cut the seal with a blade to then remove the glass... this seal is so old that it probably will come out with just a little push... but I am not going to take the risk of breaking it.. now, where did I put that x-acto knife??

Found it!... let's cut the rubber seal...
As I suspected... cutting it was the way to go, but in my case, not really needed, the seal was old and had shrunk to the point that was coming loose as I try to cut it. But just to follow due process, I cut all around the glass and carefully lifted the glass out.
Seems like the glass is smaller thann the opening, someone with more knowledge can confirm that. But be careful (and have an extra set of hands) to avoid the glass from falling inside the car and breaking.
Out!
Father-in-law checking the condition of the drain holes
Are there supposed to be drain tubes attached to those holes??

Cool. I did not have any tubes, or drain holes come to think of it!
Hahahhaah! These cars are sweet. BTW... I got my rear glass in today as you took yours out.

Well... so much for not touching the outside paint...
Getting ready to drill the spot welds... yes, I got crazy with the cutting wheel just to get some metal out... stress relief, whatever, lol

OK, let's do this!!
Drill out the welds...
For some areas, using the grinder was better than trying to drill the welds...
and for some... well, best to just cut it away...
Almost done...
Soon baby...soon...

Took a break from the metal work to replace the side vent windows rusted lock shafts...
Punch out the pin... be sure to catch it on the other side, small enough to disappear forever!!
Some blue magic to polish the metal back to its glory...
New one in place...
Rinse and repeat for the other side...

I have seen several cars with a trio of holes there. Looking very factory. But I was like "where the heck do those drain to?" when I saw them.
FWIW I put mine together without. It wont have a chance to rust ever on my watch anyhow.
