Ignition Switch
Does anyone know where I can find a 69-912 ignition switch or have my existing one rebuilt (if that is possible)?
Mine is getting more and more difficult to turn the key and get started. I am afraid I am either going to break my key off or get stuck in the middle of nowhere and would like to fix the problem before it becomes one.
Thanks

Roland,
Thank you for the repsonse. I do have an intermittent ignition switch. When I removed the switch and shook it, I re-connected everything and the starter turned right over. After I shut it off and let it sit for a few minutes, nothing. Removed it again and reconnected and it worked.
Now here is my next problem. the terminal numbers on the back of the switch do not match what I see on the schematic I have for 912's. There is a number on the back (8276/2). I am afraid this might not be a 912 switch and would like to replace it with the same type. Any suggestions?
connection numbers are as follows, starting at 30 and moving clockwise
30 - red wire (battery)& red/white wire
Pa - white wire
50 - yellow (starter)wire
54 - yellow/red wire
15 - black wire/2 red wires (1 connector)/yellow wire
Any Ideas?
Thanks
Craig

Hello
Have a look at: http://www.pelicanparts.com/911/911_...rical_1970.jpg
The switch can be opend ( "decanned" ) and the contacts and the little springs and the ball mechanismen cleaned, rebend, greased.
Not sure about the Part# but thts the one embossed in the plstic and belongs to the internal parts# from the OEM ( Bosch or Klöckner ). It also indicates the suiting connector
Basically there are two switches for the same application ( 69-89 ) the early ones have a slot tumbler and the later ones a crossslot ( like phillips screws ) tumbler. early switches will not fit in late locks but versa will work.
Also keep your lock "oiled" to prevent wear in that system.
AFIsee your electric connection seems to be correct.
