It was my daily driver, alot of fun, and got great milage. Not the fastest Porsche, but really well balanced. ( I added a better exhaust and Recaro seats.)
I would have jumped all over the $4k deal!!!
It's been a great car to have. It definately can be a good daily driver. I usually take it for a run on weekends as both the 912e and 928 are weekend cars...Lots of great roads in my area especially here in the wine country region. I'm a little envious of your 993 Cabrio. Love the looks of the 993!!!

Cool....I gave my 912E to my daughter a couple of years ago. Owned it since 1981 and what a car! Enjoy. I have been toying with the idea of getting one and making it a DE racer. Anyone know of any....obviously strip it out and put in a Jake motor(?) so it wouldn't have to be perfect.

I had a beautiful 912E for a few weeks. Don't let it overheat on you, as it can drop a valve guide and fry the motor and in some cases, such as mine, end up in flames on the side of the highway. No joke. It's worth getting the engine dialed in exactly right by a pro. The timing is tricky to set and can effect how cool the engine runs. good luck with it.

Thanks for the info. After installing a new head temperature sensor it's been running great! It also passed smog recently!

I paid $3500 for a '67 912T with a perfect Twin Button Nardi wheel, but that needs literally EVERYTHING else. You got a GREAT deal.
