1976 912E
Hi All,
There is a 1976 Porsche 912E Silver/Black w/electric sunroof locally for sale. It has 260,000 miles, body in good shape no rust or dents, however paint clear coat issues. Inside dash 1 minor crack a few inches. Seats ok, need to be redone at some point rest of car in good shape. Owner has engine rebuilt w/reciepts asking $4000. Any idea if this is a good deal?
thanks,
Charles

They only built 2000 912Es and a nice ones are going for $10,000 and up, my best friend has a 912E with 75000 miles and its a sweet little car to drive, so $4000 sounds like a good price for a rare 912E with a sunroof

Fortunately, to rebuild even a complete wreck of an engine in that thing is not too expensive. Best of luck. They're an interesting vehicle, with much better weight distribution that a similar era 911.

The seller just completed the required smog test that was due, and it passed fine. I am hoping to get it this week, however it may be next week due to conflicts with each of our schedules....I am looking forward to driving it home. Thanks for asking I will try to get pictures up within a few days after reciept.

912E Pics
Hi All,
I appreciate everyone's comments. I finally have it home. Here are some quick pics I will post more later. I've been impressed on how nice it drives and that it has more get up and go then I expected!

I wish I still had my old 912E....
I sold my cockney brown sunroof 912E about a dozen years ago (I got over $12000 for it). I have a 993 Cabrio and a Boxster now, but I mis the 912E.
It was my daily driver, alot of fun, and got great milage. Not the fastest Porsche, but really well balanced. ( I added a better exhaust and Recaro seats.)
I would have jumped all over the $4k deal!!!
