Default new custom exhaust

Butzip,

I finally got my own custom exhaust. This one is a flowmaster; I bought it off of a friend who got rid of his 912. He had his one custom made by John Benton http://bentonperformance.com/

man.. i cant wait to put this monster on. it sounds so bitchin!!!!

btw, its not backwards.. the muffler goes over the pipes, just below the sheet metal, and the tail pipe exits the drivers side..

Harry - My father has this near exact setup. Benton just gave him the specs and he had this built. I never knew a 912 could sound this hot. Sounds better than my Carrera 4 with a custom Andial exhaust.

Can't beat the old school sound of a pushrod motor. US V8 or flat 4.

Harry, when you get that thing installed I'd love to hear it if you'll post a video/audio clip.

OMG.. that file took forever. Patience was an understatement

Yup, that exhaust sounds sweet Stephen! there was also quite a bit of tapping.. loose valves or maybe there were exhaust leaks?.. (hard to tell in the vid). Sounds killer though! I know your dad has an awesome car. I havent run into your father for a few years. I would love to finally see it in person. You guys should try to make it to the rendevous this year.

Glad you were patient - my web server has limited bandwidth especially since I work from home over a VPN. The valves did indeed get adjusted after that video was shot. The engine only had about 1000 miles on her after the rebuild when that video was shot.

OK, wide open megaphone was too obnoxious @ WOT so I threw on a supertrapp. Big difference, now it's acceptable and mean sounding.
