Default Help with dashboard indicator light

Here's an unlikely problem, but hoping someone else has BTDT.

1989 930, just above radio in the dash there is a three-light indicator for the brake system, parking brake and seatbelt reminder. I wanted to replace mine because the red lens broke and I couldn't get it to stay fixed. Bought a new assembly. In removing the assembly from the dash, the connector came off the contacts because there isn't enough slack in the wiring to come out with the assembly. Now I can't get the connector on the new assembly without putting the assembly in first. But then, how to get at the wiring? Anybody tried this before? I'm trying to avoid taking the car apart from the luggage compartment side. TIA

Ken,
If you remove the right side gauges you can reach your arm down there and reattach the plug. It takes some reaching and a little pinch here and there, however you can reach and it is far easier than the alternative. The alternative is to remove the fresh air system and go through the front.

Stephen:

Thanks for the tip. Worked like a charm. BTW, the car is running great.

Outstanding. Beats the other way.
