Ethical question about 930 on ebay
#16
I sold a car a few years ago, and the guy called me 6 months later claiming all sorts of things. I spoke with an attorney, and he told me it didn't matter if it was true or not (I caught the guy lying about a couple of things, so I think it was all made up). What the attorney told me is that if you have no knowledge of the defect, then it is up to the buyer to find it, but if you know about something, then you are obligated to disclose it, or it is fraudulant.
I would suggest a differnt solution to this problem, S4. You will not stop everyone from buying this car, someone will bite, sooner or later. Wait until after it sells on Ebay, and then contact the winner after a month or so, and let him know that you told the dealer about the bad PPI before the new owner purchased the car. That will put him in an excellent position to go after the dealship ifhe ends up having problems with the car.
