Reproduction VIN Jam Sticker need help
The VIN jam sticker was removed 20 years ago with a respray. Plan to order a reproduction sticker. The sticker company shows black and white or silver and black both with the tamper proof circles. I cannot remember what mine looked like. Original paint Black Metallic A2.
Manufacture date 10/79. Want to order the right one so any help greatly appreciated.

First, yes, exterior color did dictate sticker color. Basically dark exterior colors, like black, used Silver stickers and the lighter/brighter exterior colors used Black. It all seems to be based on contrast.
Second, it sounds like you are trying to replace the door jamb VIN sticker on a North American 1979 MY 930 with a VIN starting with 930980XXX? If that is correct, you'll need to confirm whether your 930 was delivered in the States or Canada (there are differences in the stickers). Once you identify delivery, I'll be able to tell which sticker P/N you'll need.
If you have any questions, you can PM me and I will be glad to try to help you.
