88 930 turbo CA Smog test
I live in Ca and am about to purchase an 88 930 turbo from NJ. It has passed inspection and smog in Jersey. The car has low miles and is completely stock. Will it pass Ca smog test? What are the dependencies? Any advice on this is much appreciated.

It can pass in Jersey and still not have all the original emissions controls in place. My car would pass with just the cat put back on and it didn't have the smog pump and associated air injection system in place.
Is the car blue by chance?

I have read different things about 49 state cars getting passed in Ca. If it has all the original emissions controls I think you might be OK but I wouldn't bet the farm on it when it comes to CARB. Can you make it part of the purchase contract? Best of luck to you.
BTW.Reason I asked about the blue car is there is one that was serviced by the shop that did a bunch of work on mine here in Jersey. Last I saw it was for sale at a dealer in Marina Del Rey. It is a bone stock car. 86' Coupe I might add.
