Default DYNOJET 248C Dynamometer

Hi,

Can anyone give me an idea of how to convert the measured BHP at the wheels to the equivalent flywheel BHP with this Dyno?

My car is running 290 (SAE) BHP at the wheels. I can do the conversion to metric BHP OK, but need some indication of a reliable conversion factor to use to convert it to flywheel BHP.

Thanks,
Keith

We've seen the drivetrain losses of 911s to be about 15% so you would take your hp 290 and divide it by (1-15%) or .85 which would be about 341fwhp. This is only a generalized method. The only true way to get FWHP is to measure it on an engine dynamometer.

Hi Keith:

Geoffrey is right on target, here.

Extrapolating crank HP from wheel HP is strictly "Kentucky Windage" and is not real accurate. 15% is as close as you can get, but those final figures are not gospel.

Caveat Emptor, Sir.
