Default Panorama 930 Article

Kudos to PCA for the recent 930 article which gives its membership a glance of the air-cooled platform which vaulted Porsche into racing history on the tracks of the world and into production history rare-air by proving Porsche with a car that provided direct one-on-one competition to the top-line Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and Maserati's of the day. The article was written as a market survey. But, there exist opinions elsewhere as to whether the article provided an accurate assessment of the attributes that make the 930 desirable or what its current value may be.

The Forums at Pelican and F'chat have had much to say about the article's content. Interesting that the PCA 930 article has not seen any postings on Rennlist.

Indeed interesting that it has not been discussed here. Note that the article was written by Prescott Kelly, former PCA President and one of the most knowledgeable men alive on Porsche cars.

The valuation section of article has been beat to death on pelican thread. Someone posted entire article but was told it was a copy right infringement and that post has been removed. Trying to write an article on valuation of a rapidly appreciating asset is a no win deal.

Its better to own than to be looking to own. Thats all we need to know right now. Id never be able to afford one if I didn't already have one.

I keep articles like these in my quick-grab pile of archives so every year when I have to prove valuation for my agreed value insurance policy, I have plenty of ammo.

It was a good article. Met Prescott and his wife when I co-chaired Porsches to Oxford -- I think his wife is a Miami OH grad.

Hi Brandon,
Both the 930 Turbo Carrera and 1979 Porsche 930 threads in the Porsche Forum on F'chat have some interesting thoughts to share on the Pano article.
