My new Special Wishes '83 930 Slant, weird interior pieces.
Hi All,
I just bought an '83 930 that has many special wishes options including the wood dash, leather covered side vents and lock **** cover plates. I've seen these on other special wishes cars. I'm so excited to finally get my hands on a slant. I've always wanted one, and I love the slate grey.
I've never seen a console like mine, and a google image search turns up nothing. I've also never seen a door handle done in burl wood to match the dash...it is very nicely done! Have any of you seen these items before?

Could we get a shot of the sunroof? It looks larger than standard. I do like that interior color.
That kinda looks like Laguna Beach.

Mike, did your 930 come with any other special wishes options? Could you post a picture of it for me?
Sorry union...if it makes you feel any better I had to pay significantly over the Buy it Now price due to a bidding war (that's why he pulled the auction), and it's had some panels repainted that weren't done well which he neglected to mention in the auction. But it is a very well kept, straight car and I'm very excited to finally own a slantnose 930!
The sunroof is normal size I believe. Here's the interior shot of the sunroof.

The console is a DP Motorsport console. Are your fenders metal or fiberglass(as DP would have made)? It certainly looks like a special wishes car. Are the rear quarter panels metal as well? It's a beautiful looking car...I love the color combo. What are your plans with it?

Thanks speednme. I wonder how it ended up with an aftermarket DP console...the leather perfectly matches the other interior pieces. The owner must have added it later...Special Wishes wouldn't install a DP console would they?
The DP slantnose fenders looked different and used different headlights, correct? Or would they also install the factory parts kit? Both front fenders and rear quarter panels are metal. All under-hood items match other factory slants (washer bottle, single headlight motor, etc.), and the factory verbally verified that it was one of the 35 Special Wishes slants produced. They are supposed to mail the documents that state this.
From what I understand, the factory can confirm it was sent to Sonderwunsch to become a slantnose, but cannot confirm what was done to it once it got to Sonderwunsch. I imagine they assembly line prepared the 930 differently when they knew it was to become a slantnose.
Plans are to correct the paint work without a full respray and keep it as a weekend driver for a few years. 930s are in a bubble right now (that's why I sold my '76 recently), but I still think the factory slants are very under-appreciated.
Still curious if anyone has seen wood door handles before.

You may be able to order a COA on a grey market car, I would call PCNA and ask. You can order COA's from other Porsche clubs, I ordered one for 73 911 through PCGB, so you may want to try that route if the PCNA does not pan out.

You have some good plans...enjoy that rare beast. Are you going to swap out the wheels for Fuchs? a nice set of 17x9x11 of Fuchs would really make that car even hotter,,,just saying...

Thanks Chris! Mine doesn't look exactly like the ones in your pictures...mine has more curves towards the top and my side panels go all the way back to the firewall. Have you seen my console in other SW cars?
