Thanks...yes, very pleased with the final paint job. Should blend well with the chocolate brown leather interior. Hope to have some pictures of the installed interior in the next week or so.
Well, hard to believe it has been almost 9 months since my last post. It's been a bit slow-going on the restoration this year. The car is ~85% complete and I'm waiting on updated pics of the reassembly. I've got a few of the rebuilt calipers along with the original condition. Hope to have more pics to post after the New Year.

amazing quality restoration. How much did it end up costing you?
Just found this thread. Read the first post and thought “Nooooooo”
glad you stuck with the original color. It looks awesome.
Thx...yes, when I read back through the original post (March 2014), I think about how I knew next to nothing about what I was embarking on, and how now, almost 4 years later, I'm so glad I stayed with the original color scheme. The interior/exterior restoration has surpassed my wildest imaginations. I cannot overstate how difficult it was to envision, at first, how good it would look when repainted. The car had been sitting outside for many years baking under the hot Texas sun so I couldn't really appreciate how it would appear refreshed. Needless to say, I'm very pleased.
Great thread- I started a similar project in 2015 on a 76 930. Was going to be a simple refresh and has also turned into a 6 figure nut and bolt resto, car should be completed this spring, can't wait.

Fantastic...would be interested in seeing some pics of your restoration. I hope to have more to post in a couple weeks. Mine is also scheduled to be completed this spring; we'll have to compare notes once they're both finished.
Phil and Rush....great progress on your cars!
I have 2 cars in the works right now, the 1972S photo attached...I have decided to completely take it apart and restore 100% but not to stock (other than the color and exterior appearance).
