Question 1978 930 question

Not being a 930 owner, what is the going rate (average) for a 1978? Stock set-up.

Thanks

Greg, It varies widely of course , depending on condition, mileage, maint. records, etc, but I would say low to mid $20s.

It depends on the area apparently, but when I see them advertised around here, it's more like high teens. It would have to be above average to command 20.

If you find a 930 for less 20 it has some issues. Specially after 1977. You will be hard pressed to find even a 76 or 77 in decent shape for less than 20. This is a highly debated subject on rennlist. I would say that a average to good condition 78-79 930 will bring between 21-27,000 depending on condition, mileage and mods. A garage queen low mileage mint condition will bring quite a bit more. Most of these cars are being sold over the Internet know so regions really don't play a part in the value of these cars anymore. Also something to keep in mind is these cars are going up in value every year between $500-$1000. Here and there I here talk of a good condition 930 going for less than 20 but I guess It's a mith because I've never seen it. Hope this helps. Happy Turbo hunting

If the 70's 930's are going up in value every year, that's pretty freakin' amazing. Because the 80's 930's sure aren't.

I think all 930 values took a big hit over the last three years. A really good '79 would sell for 30k then and maybe 27k now. As the economy picks back up you can expect values to recover and then increase IMHO. They aren't making cars like ours anymore. If you want a visceral driving experience this is it.

With that said, I would be more then willing to pay 5k extra for a car in great condition, as we all know how easy it is to sink 5k in repairs.
