The really funny thing is when I was turbo shopping in 2006, my mechanic said to stay away from the non intercooled ones. There was a white one for sale for $22k with 50k on it, but I bought a 79 instead. Seven years later, the turbo prices went up, but I like the way the 77 drives best.

Thanks for 2 incredible stories and sharing 2 beautiful cars. These “Dealer Finds” beat most Barn Finds I’ve seen by miles! Wishing many years of enjoyment to you both.

Gerry- good to hear from you, it's been a few years
Allen- I'm not sure what factory boost limit was, I have to look that up. The 77 is a 70.4 mm stroke motor vs the 74.4, so motor just revs better, comes on boost faster, it's also a lighter car by over 200 lbs, all of this creates a more lively feel.
Fun story, I'm glad everyone has enjoyed this! I'll get some better pics this WE.

So the story is getting more interesting, I spoke with original owners wife, remembers car well, special paint to sample, Factory delivery car, sold to son in law. I have his contact information and will try and contact him.

It also turns out car was originally brown, I found some small areas where I could find original paint, looks very interesting. It will be a fun project seeing if I can get car repainted in original PTS color. I'll need to follow up with owner to see if they have pictures of car in original color.
