7th injector
I've got a 1987 930 with CIS and I am entertaining the installation of a 7th injector. I've never seen this in person but have heard of it being used. Can someone elaborate how this is done, like where does the 7th injector get its fuel from, is it a standard CIS injector, etc??? I realize that there are multiple other fuel delivery methods out there, but they're out of my price range right now. Any help would be appreciated.

Installing and using a 7th injector for the purpose of enrichment is NOT recommended.
The 930 intake manifold was designed to used the "dry" state. This mean that its not designed nor intended to direct fuel to each cylinder, only air. Spraying fuel in there wil only create cylinders that are horribly rich and some that are very lean, by comparison. They really run terrible, BTDT, many years ago.
If you need more fuel, such as in a modified car, then the CIS system must be modified to accomplish this. I would make sure that your hot control pressures are at spec.

I have heard of this upgrade. In the 80's they were using a Miller-Woods 7th injctor to add more fuel. From what I understand that company is now out of business and that upgrade was kind of crude. I have done a lot of research on the 930 upgrades since I purchased my car. I understand the way to go is with the Euro fuel system which has larger fuel lines. Hope this info is useful.

These mods will permit a 450 HP (crank) Turbo that will not go lean and damage pistons.

You need a milling machine and a fair amount of previous experience to do this properly and not ruin this horribly expensive unit,.........
We charge $ 450 for this mod but one really doesn't need it unless you make a host of other changes that will raise the power level to 400+ HP. This is the point that the stock CIS system cannot deliver enough fuel to prevent the lean spots that creates detonation and burns pistons.
