Erik,
More than likely they used a K27 modified. Most that I have seen are like this. There won't be a HP change if you swap turbos, but there will be a sizeable spool difference. The 7200 had not even been created in 85. Technology has changed a lot since then. At any rate big change in driveablity..I know what you mean about the weight of the speedlines, but man they are a looker!

You all have beautiful cars. A couple of weeks ago I visited the Porsche factory and then drove on down to RUF where I was given another tour. I can tell you RUF would be proud to see your cars. They did have an ’89 slat nose that was just completely rebuilt and being delivered somewhere in California. It was also beautiful. I have the same RUF wheels on my non-slant nose ’89. Question what size tires are both of you running front and rear?

215 on 8" wheels front
245 on 9" wheels rear
I should be running 9" in front and 10" in the back but I did not locate any 10 yet to exchange with someone who really needs 8"
and Yes they are heavy ones

I'm running 235/45 on the front and 275 on the rear with 8 and 10" rims. I may go back to 225 on the front, a little easier and lighter steering at the track

Hey,
Some great Slantnoses out there! They are the best looking cars in the world! I have a black on black 1985 Ruf 930 Slantnose. Yes, it is a real Ruf. See it at www.pelicanparts.com/gallery/HullarP
How do you insert a photo into your reply?
