A'79 is not a gray market car, so no worries there.

That cab looks to be a very clean, original, car. And you're right about the hood and decklid panel gaps, but, I don't think that necessarily spells trouble. The panels at both ends of the car are adjusted via rubber spacers in each corner. Looking at the condition of the rest of the car, I suspect this is simply a case of lack of attention to detail [trust, but verify].

But back to the original question at hand, gti, it depends on what you intend to do with your 930 once you get it...track duty [will entail mods], mountain carving [driving], or concours competition [originality].

As previously mentioned, this is not an original, unmolested, car. It's also not priced at $70k. Ergo, with this one, concours is out. But, for less than $40k, it looks to be a sorted driver for DE's, weekend getaways, and carving up the countryside. Keep in mind, if you buy a $70k car, you probably don't/won't want to put too many miles on it. So, if concours is not high on your list, and the candy apple paint suits you, it would be worth a trip and a PPI for what could potentially be a nice driving, sorted, mid-$30's priced 930.

Enjoy the hunt.
