Question K&N Air Filter

Will the replacement of the stock air box with a K&N air filter (open element) work without any other modifications/changes? Any advantage to this mod? Any detriment?

Yes... The K&N air filter is a great upgrade as it eliminates almost all air restriction
don't need to male any other mods for it to work.

Pete,

I have a '79 930. So I don't need an extension or anything, just bolt the K&N to the "neck?"

Thanks!

K & N makes a factory replacment air filter for your stock airbox, otherwise you should probably use the powerflow airbox with a k&n or S&B type cone filter.
best of Luck,
Pete

Pete -
Thanks for the info. I'm going with a Powerflow set-up for the added convenience as you pointed above.

If your interested, I've got a PowerFlow air box I'll sell ($150). It's used but in excellent shape.
