New owner of a 1987 930! :)
Greetings folks!
I have never posted here before, but now as a 930 owner I would appreciate some help and will be visiting this section!
I was driving through this small CO town this Tuesday when I saw this innocent looking black 930 sitting in the front of this shop that works on Porsches. A hand brake and 180 later I was in there...
A nice looking all original 930, not Armor-All'd by some of those cheese-ball dealers. I know the shop and they are good PCA and race car guys and have been maintaining this car for 10 years (I think).
I came home and thought about it and talked two friends I respect. TT Surgeon here on RL was more than helpful...Many thanks TT Surgeon
Car description: Low mileage, 3 owners (I forget now?), clean CarFax, Black/Black, original paint, sport seats, everything worked,...I ran the paint meter on it myself and it came clean. (If someone has some dirt on this car, please don't tell me since I am now the owner... )
We put the car on the lift and the shop owner whom I first met 22+ years ago walked me through and explained that the owner just spent close to $28K on the car including a bottom end motor rebuild...
Did a personal PPI and came clean...the price became agreeable...Most important: Wife blessed so tomorrow is pick up day!
On my P-car air cooled resume I have owned a '93 RSA (that went up in flames! ), and a '91 964 Turbo...I always wanted the 930 so here we go!
I will need your help with: The car needs a set of Fuchs wheels (I will put out a new post later), a complete detail job, inside/outside/everywhere, and some light touch up and buffing...Original shift lever...otherwise, I am keeping her stock
Better pictures will come...

Congrats!
Question on your desire for Fuchs...have you checked availability for matching street tires that fit the proper-sized 16"x7/9 Fuchs? I can't find any (tires, that is).
I have the Fuchs and have, off-and-on, been looking for 17" or 18" wheels that don't need spacers for my 87 930.

^Thanks...I just put up a new thread for wheels. I would like to go with 17" Fuchs. I have done a few weeks of research and frankly my head hurts now! Sounds like you and I maybe in the same boat!
Yes, I am familiar with the lack of decent tires for super wide 15" or 16" wheels...I have some 8.75X15 and 11.25X15 on another car and the best that I can find is biased ply Good Year Blue Streaks! Not fun for the street at all!
