Default 930 EFI conversion

Does anybody know what the difference is between the Pat Williams racing and the Patrick Motorsport EFI conversions. Please share your experiences and / or thoughts....

I can't speak to the difference, but I recently had a bunch of work done at Patrick Motorsports and can't say enough good things about James and his techs. CIS TO EFI is my 2014 project. Will be looking forward to the responses. BTW running a 3.5 twin plug with CiS, Patrick mentioned in passing that he thought I could gain approx 100 hp by going EFI, currently at 343 Rwhp with a fairly crappy exhaust.

I note that the website alludes to competitors prices, but not his own. So what roughly is the cost of a pwr efi conversion?

Honestly(I know this sound nuts) but I really don't know(bindfaith?) I have contacted my guy who's doing the work right now to find out the cost..or close to it. Prices probably vary per person..i.e. dealer, diy etc etc.

Dirk930,

I have gone the EFI route and can say that the car is really wild the way i have it set up. it did cost a lot of $$ to get right or at least to get it the way i have it. i did alot of other work at the same time such as a full engine rebuild. i think a better option would have been to sell the stock engine and install a 993 turbo motor and G50 out of a wreck. you should do the sums and see how it stacks up. ill give you the cost breakdown that I spent. keep in mind that the prices are Australian dollars and you can usually get much better prices in the US.

Carrera 3.2 manifold with idle valve, fule rail and fuel pressure regulator $1.2K
2 x bosch motor sport fuel pumps $400
Autronic SM4 $4.5K
tial 46mm waste gate $600
new custom intercooler and plumbing $1.2K
6 x bosch 800cc motor sport injectors $800
3 x MSD twin coils $600
6 x custom length Spark plug leads $250

head porting to match manifold inc new valve guides $4K
engine tuning $1K

there are cheaper ways to do EFI......but this is the build that i allways wanted.

I'm only using the fuel rails/blocks. They are about/around $1,100.00.
$15k is a lot of money then again as was said..it is a proven combo. My car is at Dawe's Motorsport so I'm confident is in great hands. The whole PWR kit is not my efi build. I'm using Motec as my ecu.

The PWR kit also comes with M84 Motec ECU. If you source all parts you will end up with a hefty bill. The fuel rails is just one component of cource.

yes the fuel rails are just one of the components of his kit but it's the only component I used..the rest of my build will be up to Peter Dawe to use his discretion/expertise.

I did not know his kit uses the Motec M84, I will be using the same..
