930S is probably a 930 Slantnose. I believe the factory only offered a Slantnose option in the actual options list in year 1987 ($23,000 option I believe), but the Zuffenhausen body dept was known for doing quite a few slantnose conversions on a special order basis for a number of years leading up to that and shortly after. I think the factory performed roughly 250 Slantnose cars in 1987. The rest were post-sale conversions to remove the bug eyes and convert the car at a later date by the factory.
Id say 80% of the slantnose jobs are knockoffs and not done actually at the Porsche factory, either as part of the 1987 option or on a special order.
Im not a 930 guy (yet) though so Im only regurgitating what Ive read on this.

In 1979 Porsche sold 1200 930s in the U.S., I don't know how many in the rest of the world. The last 50 cars came with some kind of documentation that said they were in the final 50 . As you might know, in 1979 Porsche had decided to stop selling the 930 in the USA because of emissions problems, so the last group of cars were very desirable at the time. The last car, #1200, sold for around $20,000 over sticker and was tied up in legal action because a few customers claimed to have contracts on the car through the dealer in Hinsdale, Illinois that sold it. All the extra $$ shelled out for this car became somewhat of a moot point when Porsche started selling the 911 Turbo in the USA in 1986, which was basically the same car , but with catalytic converters in the exhaust system.
I'll look through my info from Porsche and try to find the #s for non-US cars. Dave
