Default Care to share?

I've seen a lot of 930's on the market recently for some fairly big $$. I thought it would be interesting to start a thread with the following information:

Model Year: 1986
Year Purchased: 2001
Mileage When Purchased: 18k
Current Mileage: 45k
Condition (1-5, 5 best): 5
Modifications When Purchased (yes/no): No
Cost of Current Modifications: Stupid Money
Purchase Price: $36k
Sold Since (yes/no, how much?): No

I thought about adding an entry for how much spent since buying my car and thought better of it.

Well, we're all scared that someone might judge us as idiots. "You paid WHAT for that POS??". Heck, I can't even remember just exactly when I bought her. Ok guys, judge away....

Model Year: 1987
Year Purchased: 2006
Mileage When Purchased: 90k
Current Mileage: 110k
Condition (1-5, 5 best): 5
Modifications When Purchased (yes/no): No, just missing the air injection system (still have the guts in a box though).
Cost of Current Modifications: Most of the bolts on's, plus more (see my signature..it cost what it cost). New clutch and engine seal a couple years after buying. Runs like a raped ape, next major expenditure will be on suspension.
Purchase Price: $26k
Sold Since (yes/no, how much?): HELL No! What, ya think I'm stupid???

Thanks for sharing, and that just shows the investment potential. Buy a low mileage car, put 200 miles a year on it, and sell it for a huge profit. Excellent, good for you! I wish I had the ability and foresight to do the same back in '97.

But I don't know how you had the discipline to just look at it, vs. driving it. I wonder what your ROI would have been had you left it bone stock. I too have every stock piece I've taken off, but my guess would be that if I were to sell her modified as-is, the effort it would take to bring it all back to stock would completely deflate any price increase that might be had just because all the original parts exist in a box. So the debate goes on....convert back to stock before selling, or wait for the buyer that can appreciate the huge performance gains with the proper upgrades - and damn the stock setup.

So.....so.....don't you feel kind of empty right now? It won't be long before you're back in the market, looking for a "driver" this time. Hmmmmmm...?

Plan to keep it forever. Little maintenance costs as I don't drive it that much. Getting afraid of taking it out and driving it too much as it seems to be getting too "collectible". Almost would have been wiser to have bought a modified and updated car which you could take out in bad weather, take to dinner and park anywhere.
