I have seen this car recently. Those pics were taken well before it was taken to the track. I would have been super pissed. The seller was a bit on the dishonest side.

I will chime in. There is no way it ever had a PCA log book. Call it what you want but to me it's a lie.

Just curious as to why it would not have a log book? I am only curious as the PCA is new to me?
Not sure how the whole system works.

It probably has a POC log book not a PCA log book. If you bought it with the thought of racing PCA events you would be in for a big surprise.

The car had a cracked and leaking fuel cell and it was leaking oil at the base of number 6 cylinder requireing the engine to be disassembled from to the case.

The seller did not disclose this.

Wow that is an issue! Did you see the car after it was purchased? Do you know the current owner.

I'm buyer. In my opinion the car was not honestly represented.
I spoke to the seller various times about the current condition of the car. He claimed it was the same as the photos. I received new photos and the car looked to be in similar condition. I asked if it leaked any oil or had any other issues to disclose and the answer was no. I also received additional photos under the engine and it appeared dry. The seller claimed it was pretty much ready to go with new tires, fluids etc.

I wasn't expecting a mint car by any means....it's a track car.

I expected to find some issues and had planned to upgrade the car from here. Much to my surprise there was two big undisclosed issues.
The fuel cell was shot. When I pulled the car out of the transporter I could smell the fuel. It was leaking every where. A pretty obvious problem. The second much larger issue is a major oil leak at the base of cylinder 6. This will require the engine be taken down to the case for a total re-seal. $3500 for the fuel cell and another 8-10k for the re-seal.

To say the least I'm pretty pissed.

The log book is a POC log book not a PCA log book.
I talked to the seller today. We are going to talk more in the next couple days. If I would have known the true condition of the car I would still have bought it, however I would have offered 10-12k less.
I'll post more soon. Hopefully the seller will make it right.

I've been through somewhat similar circumstances buying used race cars, I assume the worst anymore. Good luck resolving this, sounds like you are owed some $$
