In this day and age of the internet who could be so confused about the value of a car. I am sure this lady knows at least one person who is aware of google and could figure out approximately what the car is.

Eitherway if the car is in good shape my conscience wouldent allow me to buy it from a confused widow at 15% of its value.

If it's in the states, and I could drive there for under $400 in gas...I'd be pounding on the old gals door as fast as I could get there...if nothing else then an excuse for a road trip... see what ever sights are on the way...and hope for the best!
But that's just me, hell I flew from Seattle to Long Island New York to buy a Ducati, as seen from just a single Polaroid...so maybe I'm more daring than some.

Me and my friend got shafted. She started talking to other people about the car, listed it, sold it in minutes for 10K before we could get to her. Still probably a good deal. Oh well the abandoned 928 is still around. Guess I will check on it next.

Shafted? I think not....you snooze you loose. A deal like that requires swift action. If the source of information(your friend) is legit(it sounds like your friend is) you needed to cowboy up and haul tail to the widow's (with flowers of course plus the cash) home before another word was said.

Oh well it might not have been in great shape because as you said "it sold in minutes".....and not seconds...
