Soliciting feedback on 1987 930
New to the forum, so hello.
I’m in the market for a 1987-89 930 and have come across the following car:

Would like to get as many opinions and thoughts on the car as this is my first foray into Porsche ownership. BTW… he is asking $135K.

Price is out to lunch IMO. Also, I am not sure if Porsche odometers are different, but when an odometer numbers are misaligned it screams turn back. Learned this a long time ago. For those dollars I would want an affidavit signed authenticating the mileage.

That's a very very nice example of a slant, absolutely stellar! Looks pristine, and should be with only 6900 miles on it. I would question what in their terms "always maintained and cared for as a collectible" means. For a 26 year old car, she would average around 250 miles a year. I would want to know that she was driven at least three to four times a year, if even just long enough to get thoroughly hot. My guess is not, since they did a complete engine re-seal which says the seals were drying out from non-use. And how recent was that re-seal?
My opinion on the asking price: I would say it's a bit steep. But then if the intent is to just keep her as a garage queen for investment purposes, who knows but it may continue to appreciate over time. There's no way in hell I would pay that for a driver. All depends on what your motivation is and how deep your pockets. Something else to think about: If you're willing to spend that kind of money, then hold out for an '89 with 5 speed.
Note that it's got Fuzion ZR1 tires...which I just bought an entire set and got ragged on for not spending 3 times more for a finer tire. Fuzions are fine for the street or occasional spirited drive (or sitting in a showroom) but nowhere near the top of the line. The original tires must have dry rotted over time.

Yes, it's the real deal. I know the car, it sold for over 100k last year.
Very cool car!
Only thing it's missing is the slantnose supplement to the owners manual.
Some may not want to hear it, but factory 505 cars are going up in value ala 3.6 cars.

$135K?...damn!...it's a beautiful car if you don't plan to drive it. I love the 505 cars but not at that price....unless of course you are a collector but what's the fun in that. We get one shot at life(well most). Why would one want to have such a beautiful car and not enjoy driving it. Unfortunately driving it will depreciate your $135k investment. If money and depreciation are not an issue, then yes go for it...

In addition to my desire to own a classic 911, the reasoning behind this particular car is to find one that is rare and original. I’ve been looking at this car for a while and it’s simply stunning! I already have a garage queen (fully restored 1969 Boss Mustang) but seek something to drive and enjoy more often. My hope was to find something I could trade straight across, but I’m concluding there’s too much of a price delta with this one.

I'll sell you my '89 for 1/2 that amount and it is considerably nicer than that Sloan car.
