Brake Wear Indicater System
The brake wear indicators have been disconnected on my 930 for some time yet the indicator light in the dash is on, indicating a ground in the system somewhere. I was going to troubleshoot the ground this weekend and hook the system up again but wondered if these systems are reliable and worth having connected?

the fact that you're disconnected is why your light is on. I think they're useless, (who on this board needs a light to tell them their pads are shot), but I keep mine hooked up just to keep the damn light off.

From the manual:
The light comes on if
1) There is a short to ground anywhere in the warning circuit.
2) A brake pad is worn, causing the sensor to make contact with the brake rotor while braking.
3) The wire is damaged and touches ground.
The plastic body of the pad wear sensor will be fround away when the brake pad wear below 2mm. Replacement of the warning sensors can be acoided by replacing the brake pads when the pad thickness is 2.5mm.
When I upgraded to Big Reds, I had to ziptie the brake pad warning wires up out of the way so the light would not come on. I guess I could just take out the bulb instead.

When I upgraded my suspension, I cut the wires just short of the circular "thingy" they plug into on the strut, soldered the two lines together and melted some shrink wrap tubing over the 1/2" joint.
