Big Wheels - putting 11" on rear of 930.
I have recent been told that to put 17" or 18"x 11s on the rear of a 930, i would need to relocated the oil lines.
Can anyone tell me if this is a normal requirement for getting 11s to fit on a later 930? Has anyone put 11s on the rear without need for this retrofit without problems?

I know that I can fit 11X17s wearing 315/35/17 tires on the back of my 87 930 without any problem. There's no rubbing on either the outside fender wall or the inside oil lines (on the right side). I don't know if the 11X18s would fit. Keep in mind that the offset of the rim and the spacer used (if any) both need to be correct. Also, the amount your car is lowered will also impact on what you can fit under the fenders.

I have 11x17 and 9x17 on my 930 with no rubbing issues on the street. However, a 315/35/17 is much taller than stock and the front 245/40/17 is smaller than stock so you end up with the car sitting nose down. If you use a 245/45/17 in the front, you'll have to cut and modify the oil cooler protector bar for clearance.
If you move to a 225/40/18 front (25.1"diameter) and 285/30/18 (25.1"diameter) on 18x10 it is more closely matched with the stock 24.7" diameter. This is the route I'd recommend. Additionally, the 18" tire size has more options, especially for the track.

I have 18" x 10 1/2" three piece BBS wheels on the rear of my '87, using the stock spacers. I am using GHL headers which require the old style oil line and did make sure it was bent/properly installed to clear. I've used 25.5" x 12" Goodyear's with these wheels and had no problems.

I recently put 18 X 9 fronts and 18 X 10 rears with 235-40-18 and 285-40-18 bridgestone SO3's and a set of three piece kinesis wheels and they fit perfect with no rproblems except a little rub in the right front fender well which i will have to correct that bracket location, they look and handle perfect with the euro suspension height.
