Bruce, if I didn't live where I live and do what I do, I think I would have your setup also. A supercharged M3, that would be a good time, and also a sleeper. Back to the whole modification issue. Tehre are lots of ways to tlook at it. In my opinion, I was glad that I was able to purchase my car stock because it has been a lot of fun making changes to it. It is nice to know the power it did have, and the power it now has. Plus, I have gotten to know the car better since I have done all the work.

Cajun, Interesting that you are LA. My car is from New Orleans. Its an 85 Euro slantnose. I would try www.traderonline.com and the Porsche Panaroma monthly mag. It has many classifieds in it and some good prices. Also you might also try posting an "I am looking for list" on the www.911turbo.com site. Seems to be alot of 930 owners there and it is likely someone will know where there is a good car in your price range. Good Luck...RO

RO,

Thanks for the heads-up. So far, the only 930 for sale that I have been able to locate in Louisiana was in New Orleans...an '83 Euro. The guy listing the car was an auto-broker, so I don't know how fair the price was (asking 29k with 76k miles). I was planning to take a look at it before Isadore came, but have not gotten around to it yet. I really would like to look around some before making a decision.

Thanks for the websites!

to make my 85 930 DOT compliant it took $5,700 in parts and labor. New side door beams, etc. The original owner gave me the list. the Modifications to make it DOT legal were extensive.

Stephen,

I'm currently living in Alexandria...at least for the next week or so, but my family is from around Lafayette (Breaux Bridge, Cecilia, Arnaudville, etc.) My mother bought her Porsche up at Moffitt in Shreveport. I'm sure you are pretty familiar with them.

I get up to Monroe every now and then. Maybe next time I am up that way or you find yourself down here I can buy you a drink.
