EFI Conversion

Hi,
I replaced the whole CIS system with a 3.2 Carrera manifold, Injectors, new Crank trigger, Engine management system, 3 x 2 MSD coil packs etc.
i had to have my heads port matched to the new 3.2 manifold. The job done was a work of art and expensive. i also rebuilt the engine and did a lot of other stuff at the same time. i can give you a full break down but i must admit that with the info that i know now, i would not do it again. there are much cheaper ways to get the Hp. the EFI conversion cost me $12K tuned and ready to go. at the same time i had the engine rebuilt with a lot of new upgrade parts and a GT35R turbo (+more $$$). all up the engine makes 525Hp and it hammers. for about half the money you can buy a 993TT in the us from a breaker and install it no problems.

I think you have to be realistic. Enjoy the car for what it is, I would stop with simple bolt ons. Headers, exhaust, IC, k27 etc, with those you are easily in the 400hp range. Once you start changing fuel systems/EFI, etc you've gone too far.

You can do it at a conservative price. I did a SDS system for under 5K. It's one one the best upgrades you can do in my opinion. Also there is a market for used CIS parts. It's not alot of work for a DYI. But, I would be selective on which conversion you choose. Do your homework. Philip

What should I expect with the below setup?
Evo Air Intake
GHL headers and exhaust (4" outlet; no cat)
K27 with Kokeln IC
1 bar boost spring
964 cams
I have to re-check the dyno sheets to confirm how much I had done to my car at the time (the dyno- 3 runs- was done years ago) but I believe it only had me at ~280 rwhp and, while I felt disappointed (I hoped I'd be closer to 320+ rwhp), I didn't really know where it should've been.
I had forgotten about this (recall, it was years ago) until I was going through the paperwork I've kept for the car over the years.
Is it a tuning problem?
