Default 930 Targa

I'm not sure if these are rare or of interest in the US/Europe but spotted this in NZ. Thought it was quite interesting. Looks like it was a Euro car originally...

Kiwi,

Thanks for sharing this link. As one of the few who seem to like the Targa variation of the 930, I'd call them rare but not seemingly of great interest, at least in the US.

Yes they are rare. I have a targa Turbo and love it. Can't beat sunny days with the roof out, Rainy days is another issue though.
Maybe when Porsche decide to launch the new targa the old one may come back in favour due to their querkyness.

Tim, I think you're spot on. Who knows, maybe the 991 variation will also lead us back to T-tops!

I guess if it it's rare it's day will come. It does amaze me how these "quirky" cars end up all the way down in NZ. Great for the local Porsche club I guess.

I wonder if they'll end up getting put back on boats to the UK and Europe one day if their value does climb high enough. Now that would be strange for us NZers, seeing used cars going the other way!

Default 4 weeks to go...

Doing this overseas transaction half around the world, took some time.
The arrival of my new toy will need 4 more weeks.

When the car is here, I will post some pictures and tell the whole story.

The 930 Targas are very rare in North America. According to PCA there are only 12 of these cars registered in North america.

Thanks for the info!

I am collecting some 930 targa info meanwhile.
The total production numbers vary from source to source.
Most of them say around 300 US cars + around 300 ROW cars had been build
from 87-89.
I would like to know how many RHD 930 targas are within these numbers?

*the container+ ship is in the Panama canal meanwhile.

There's a black 89 Turbo Targa in the Seattle area that's nicely prepped for the track.
