Asking $49900.
Is this reasonable price for a factory slantnose at 41K?
Somewhere on the site it says "modified to 500hp". Is this a big no-no?

Nice car..I actually considered that car. I offered 43k...they said no..they wanted closer to their asking price.
Two things I was not crazy about.
First the ac was completely pulled out(although I did get info on a new system)
The second thing was a strange one...the car has a 915 tranny. I was told the first gear should not be used in a hard way...although the tranny was freshly rebuilt. Why they didn't just throw a 930 4 speed back in just puzzles me.
The car looks very nice in pics. Anywhere between 43k to 45k would seem more than fair.

Too many mods for that 915 tranny IMO. That is a strange choice given the apparent quality of the rest of the car. Why get cheap on the 5 speed? I would prefer the 4 speed. Makes one wonder if anything else was half assed??

I dont think it was a half assed job it was probably made before the 89 5speed was available, the only other 5speed available at the time was the RUF(cost prohibitive probably). But why not switch back to the 4speed when the rebuilt was needed? That car has been there for a long while. For the right money it would make a nice buy.

If the car was stock it would be a good asking price but the further these get from stock the softer the price. Just my 2 cents.
Personally, my only exception would be if any mods were bolt on and the original items were included.

+3... I'm with Kilo on the price getting softer the farther you go from stock on these cars. Nice looking car though. Keep your original parts!
No ac?
I also think its wierd that they stuck a 915 in it. There is a reason turbos did not see a 5 speed until 89. Wonder if they put a heavy clutch in or the one that came with the 915. From a 3.2!
Can you get a picture of the bottom of the car. Curious to see linkage.
I would say a fair price, providing leakdown, ppi etc check out is closer to 40k. No AC, ask around. Probably 2k to re install.
Any service history? Car has tons of mods so it would really help if you know who did the work and excactly what parts the car has.
Gasman has it pegged, I would be very concerned about corners being cut on this car. Don't know how long stock internals would last seeing 500hp. Not to mention a stock 915 clutch at that hp level.
Car looks really clean, panels have nice fit and killer paint.

To the OP..make an offer..the worst they can say is no...I've tried.
I look at it this way, I enjoy a modified car( if done correctly ). If the car passes a full ppi and they accept your offer move forward...but keep in mind what may need to be done....as follows:
AC..may run you anywhere from $2k-$3.5k on parts and labor
Wheels ( if you chose to go original..$2.5k ). I personally would go RUF or a Lindsey( or other ) modified Fuchs...$3k-$4K..or just keep the Fikse ( powder coated black? )
The big one..TRANNY..The current one may last for a while but I would keep an eye out for an 89 5 speed, a 4 speed or a RUF 5 speed..$5k-$13k in parts and labor.
If you are handy you can save on some of the labor..
Nice car with great potentials for the right price..

Based on the mods and the high cost to retrofit the car, offer 35k. Unless they can cough up the stock parts. I would stay away from a frankenturbo, there are other unmolested cars at that price point.

Agreed on all of the above. As well it has miss matched front and rear brand of tires? and cheap ones to boot. this just goes to show you that if they cheaped out there, just imagine where else they tried to save a buck?
Ps. Be carful dealing with true speed. My experience might be out of the norm but I tried buying a Ferrari 550 there about 6 months ago and I was not happy with the outcome. The car in question was on consignment. Long story short I made sure to agree on a price on the car before I sent it to get a full PPI at Ferrari. when all was said and done the car came back from the PPI with a few extra problem then I had anticipated but regardless I still wanted the car. They then said the owner changed his mind??? and I'm out the $$ for the PPI and time wasted on my part. Not a good way to do business.
