Default ebay auction on '89 930 Turbo >$60K

Hey all,

Very nice '89 930 Turbo for sale via ebay, 2 owners and 25K miles, ends Thursday. Bidding is up to $62K and seller's reserve has not been met. What do you think is driving such strong interest and the price on this car?

WOW, $ 62,000 and the reserve has NOT been met? YOu could probably buy a similar example ar Sloan's for less money.

It is a beautiful car.

Reasons are below:
1) Super rare (but very attractive) exterior
2) Fantastic interior
2) Rare piping on seats
3) Low miles
4) G50/50 car
5) Beautifully photographed and presented
6) Original window sticker
7) Looks well maintained and cared for = Increasing buyer confidence
8) Special Wishes center console
9) Not molested \ modified

Nice car.

Well the 930 market is getting stronger and stronger, they only built 930's with G50 trannies one year, if you want an 89 it appears to be a very nice one.

The "special wishes console" is cool looking, but I've never heard of it commanding a premium. I'm also surprised the special console is not listed on the window sticker, as that was not standard equipment in 89 model year 930s. Makes me wonder if that was added later.

I've only heard of 89s carrying a premium because that was the only year 930s had a 5spd transmission. Although, many articles and people I've talked to say they wouldn't pay a premium for a 5 spd.

Its a beautiful car and the exterior is a nice unexpected change from frequently seen black.

Great summary...and all good points. It is a stunning car and, though I have seen other blue turbos, I don't recall seeing one that's midnight blue. The interior is immaculate. Funny thing about the piping -- which you don't see often on the 930's -- is that the window sticker shows it as a $33 option. Pretty sure the only option you can get today at $33 is a key ring.

Even factoring G50 and miles...that's a HUGE spread over the market for these cars. You gotta love this if you own one now.

I think you can also assume that the person (persons)biding on the car have either seen it or have had eyes on it and they are still biding.

or the persons bidding are friends of the seller the very next bid may just buy the car. . . . I'm just saying . . .
