Default Rolex 24 at Daytona tips

I'm finally heading to Daytona from Kansas City this year instead of watching it on TV and saying, "I should have gone to that!"....like I have the last 3 years.
I had a couple questions. Is it worth it to buy the more expensive $119 ticket with the garage pass, hospitality tent, gift, etc? Is the grandstand admission for $40 worth it?
Looking at the agenda, are there any events you would recommend or consider a "don't miss"? Any recommendations on where to stay?
Any other tips would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

MO,
The grandstand tickets are useless, nobody sits in the grandstands.
The action is always in the infield for the entire 24 hours.
In my opinion, the 4 day $119 ticket is worth it as it gives you all access
to pit row seating, garages, etc.
If you wanna go cheaper, th min I would do is the general infield admission
with the garage access pass.

Have fun!
Maybe I'll see you there!

the grand stand tickets aren't worth it unless you get the champions club box seats...I had those a few years ago and it was awesome watching the start from up there! I was probably only on that side of the track for 4 hours total all weekend...thursday and friday are great, I got to chat with Hurley Haywood for a bit a couple years back on friday when he had some free time...got all up close and personal with the brumos dp. ride the ferris wheel at least once, gives some good views. and unless they've stepped up security, you can sneak out to the armco at nascar turn 3 around dawn and get some incredible up close pics of the cars in the bus stop and on the banking with the sun coming up in the background!

For everyone else, you can get in free this weekend for testing.

Grandstands are fun for the first 5 laps. Afterwards, no way at all.

Hosp tents are usually worthless unless it is a full-on where you can truly go to nag out in the middle of the night (I did that)

The place is freaking huge and if you can somehow score a golf cart...man what a beauty that would be.

Cold and WINDY. Daytona is always windy and the chill is just incredible, even at 60 degrees.

YOU MUST get to the garages. Daytona is nothing w/o it. The access is just amazing...
