Default New Member intro and New Member question

Hello, just got my 89 Turbo a few weeks ago. Still have a soft spot for the 86Targa but you gotta love the power of the turbo. Plenty of good info here, great site.

I mistakenly posted a 930 question on the 911 forum. Rookie mistake! Can anyone provide me with the part number for the sticker on the red car (not mine). It has specific info pertaining to 89 turbos. Its the silver catalyst one on the engine lid. I have found some for other years but an exact part # match would be best.

Thanks

Congratulations on your new 930 slant nose. Good color and a great looking car - enjoy.
Sorry, can't help with the question.

Hmmm....that request may not be a simple one, as some of the labels are no longer available through Porsche. An alternative is to have on reproduced, if you have or can take of picture of one that you want reproduced. Here's just one outfit that does that kind of stuff (I've never dealt with them, just pulled it off a thread on a different forum). http://www.autodatalabels.com/place-an-order.html

Thanks Pops, the wheels are Tru Design widened Fuchs. I love the 4 inch lips on the rears. I don't know the offsets but they are 17 x 8 fronts and 17x 9.5 rears. Some people are not fond of a glossy black finish on the petals, I think they contrast nicely on white cars.

Nice truck! Nice car! And nice wheels. I really like the deep dish look.

I sent him a link to the thread. I haven't talked to him yet. I think it may be in the shop. He sent me an message last week saying "my turbo done blowed up".
I'll post a picture of mine tomorrow if that helps in the meantime.

Thanks Mussberger, actually that link kind of explains my problem. The sticker I am looking for is #12. The only one for my car is apparently for California engines (cal). It does not really have one for 49 state models. I do not know if the 89 930's were 50 state compliant. If they are, someone please chime in. I'm still hoping someone with another 89 will post the number on the sticker, I feel this is the only way to get the true part #.

Sf, I just bought it a few weeks ago. $38k. 70k miles, perfect leakdown. 5% on all buckets except #5 @ 2%. Had a full rebuild earlier, very tight. All records from from day one, all books and dealer stamps. First owner was a Doctor in Florida. She kept it for 10 years and was really good about taking care of it. And yep I said she! I think it was a fair deal.
