I've never heard of the gooseneck equalizer. My 79 came stock with a am/fm shortwave radio. It fit in the standard sized radio slot. For the life of me, I could not find any use for the shortwave radio receiver, except for those late night times in northern wisconsin when I had the irresistable urge to hear foriegn language broadcasts !!

I took off the goose neck equalizer on my 81 930. The equalizer is attached to a movable collar which is mounted next to the center console. Is this what you are referring to the goose neck?

My original is packed away in storage from when I swapped in a newer radio about 20 years ago (which is now also outdated!). I'll take a look next time I can and get the model # for you.

I dug out my owners manual and page 31 had all the info on how to operate the radio and a picture, so it must have been what all 79 930's came with. There is no mention of a model #; it is called a Porsche Stereo Cassette Radio. It is an AM/FM/Short Wave/Long Wave cassette radio!

The radio is made by Blaupunkt; all the schematics and info that came with the car are in German. I don't have a scanner or I'd post a picture.
