Default Gas tank capacity

Even when I drive my '78 eurospec 930 until the fuel gauge is close to empty, I still can't get more than about 13.5 gallons into the tank before it's full. My owner's manual, which is for the Americanized version, says the capacity is "about 20 gals." (80 liters). Does anyone know if the European version has a smaller gas tank? It has a collapsible spare tire in the trunk.

I'd say you have a bad guage or sending unit.
The tank should be about 20 gals.

My manual in my 87 factory slant 930 says 22.5 US gallons which includes a reserve of 2.11 gallons. My problem is that the low fuel light and gauge goes down to the bottom and the most I've ever had to put in it to fill it is about 15.5 gallons. Until this discussion came up I always thought I had a 16 gallon tank, but I dont' know that I'm willing to run it dry to find out. It seems that the tank doesn't look big enough for 22 gallons.....
