Light flyweel and pressure plete
What company makes a good light weight flywheel and pressure plate to use in 87 930 with 930 Turbo Kevlar Clutch disc?

Kennedy makes great light weight PP's, but for flywheels....?
Quite frankly, you need to retain some rotational mass (either in the flywheel weight, or the PP weight). Swapping both out to lightweight versions isn't always the best combination for a 930. The mass helps get you off the starting line, or something like that. You may also find that although your rpm's rise faster, your turbo won't rise commensurate with the increased rpm's, so it may mess with your torque curve. For normally aspirated cars, it's a slam-dunk, but for turbos a different story.
That's just my simple distillation from what I've heard from others. Other people out there have much more experience than I.
I went with the compromise...a lightweight Kennedy PP and kept my stock flywheel. Very pleased with it.

Over on the 964 turbo forum a rennlister from across the pond went with a Patrick Motorsport/Kennedy combo; single mass flywheel and can't quite recall all of the details but he liked the combo a great deal. His rennlist ID is 911addict.

I would use a stock FW and use the KPE stuff. You need some weight in there to help with low end throttle response. The stage 1 is more than most need unless you have gone nuts with the motor. Keep in mind that the less low end momentum you have the longer it takes to spool up. The disclaimer here is if you live on the track then it makes all the sense in the world

My motor is being wrapped up and the new pp went on yesterday. I'm not sure of the brand, but my mechanic said my stock pp was 25 lbs and my new one is 14 lbs. As for the flywheel, it is a stock one, but has been modified at a machine shop. Look at your stock flywheel, then look at a 10 spoke wheel and it looks kind of like that.

pressure plate
Kennedy Engineered Products is the only way to go on a 930....period. I use a 3200 lb plate (they have a 3600 lb....but you'd need over 400hp for that).....I get 70,000 miles out of KEP stuff...my car has 239,000 on it. Call Kennedy and follow their advice...you will not be sorry! Kevlar...aluminum flywheels etc will make you crazy on the street....for all out race car only.
