sfbanchs- i don't think it's turbo lag. it actually feels like the ignition or fuel supply is cut off. The engine bucks as it struggles thru the dead spot. I remember the lag on my 79 and how weak the motors are off boost but this is not that.

The car is in orlando at Nort Northam's place. My friends at KMW racing in Boca took care of my 79 and know Nort very well. The shop is Zotz (Ron Zitza) near orlando that will be looking over the car for me. Once the car is mine KMW will be maintaining it for me.

I recently had a similar issue with my 1988 Turbo. I belive the plunger in the fuel head was sticking. Stephen Kasper had recommended to a few people to treat it by adding a bottle of Techron on the next fill up. Although I was a skeptic, i did so, and the problem resolved itself within 1/2 tank of gas. Best $10 I ever spent.

Good luck.

thats good point about the Techron, I used it all the time in my '79.

another thing that just struck me is the boost gauge didn't work either. It would swing over to 1bar just cruising around then twitch when you got into boost. Could a vacuum hose cause the lean stumble and the boost gauge problem?

I'll post some pics as soon as my "rennlist member" status goes thru.

the PPI is tomorrow, if all goes well it will be mine this weekend. I love that last pic of the rump. The big B&B pipes sticking out each side look mean.

pete, thanks. fortunately the sickness started for me back in 92 when i bought my first 930... i sold it years ago and have regretted it ever since. funny you mention efi, thats one of the first mods i plan on doing..... since it already has a k27 and a B&B exhaust. I have seen some mention of turbopalooza, what and where?

Nice, congrats!

Those centercaps were a popular item in the '80s. They're raised and have a hex shape to them. Get some stock caps on there and all will be well.

Looks like a tidy car, enjoy it.
