Default AirFrance pre-crash pictures

I don't know if these are fake or not but they are the most horrible pictures I have ever seen.

I make it a habit of going to Snopes.com whenever I see or get something like this....it's becoming more and more common for folks to extract clips from movies and send them out as a real event. You'd think that folks had better things to do than create misinformation. Not too long ago there was another one of a newly designed super fighter....I forwarded it to my cousin who works for NASA asking about the new radical design....he told me it was a clip from the movie Stealth....I felt like a schmuck...so I check out almost everything now.

Even if they weren't from the "Lost" clip, one would have to wonder...exactly how long is there daylight in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, near the Equator? The crash happened sometime between 11PM and 1AM, n'est pas? Far too much ambient light in the background of both those shots, given that fact. Horrifying to think about what it might be like in that instant, regardless.

Last I heard was that the plane didn't break up until impact (disregarding the Lost photos).

I don't know if this article is true but maybe snopes.com will look into it.

Rudy: That info on Snopes has been around for a bit....and although I do use Snopes to try to verify some of the misinformation that seems to permeate the internet (who thinks these things up in the first place?)....I also know that even Snopes can have a bias and put an editorial slant on something. I would imagine that someone with a lot of influence...or $$$...could entice the site owners to slant a story or influence their "findings". That's why, i you're not in a hurry and really want to dig into the facts, your research should also include Googling the subject matter. Snopes still remains as a quick reference point to give you the "rest of the story". I've found that most of the time, they do provide fairly accurate info....regardless of whether or not they have a PhD in research analysis....just as there are a lot of guys on this and other forums who are crackerjack mechanics without a degree in Automotive Mechanics or engineering from MIT.

Those pics remind me of this one that was passed around shortly after 9/11. It was of a kid who had his picture taken just before impact and his camera was found in the wreckage of the towers. When developed or downloaded, you could see the plane...

Obviously, nothing survived the collapse and the picture is fake, but it had some people going for a while.
