list prices when new
Hi guys, just out of curiosity, how much did the 930 cost when new? Did the prices vary very much through the years? 1980 to 1989? thanks..

I know for a fact the 930 was $81K Canadian new in 86' . My father bought one brand new. Options of sport seats and LSD from what I can remember. He got it at cost though which was $71K as he had a good friend who owned a dealership.
My factory slantnose was $175K Canadian list price, the price of a very nice house back then. The dealer paid $149K from Porsche.

Wow... Thumbs up to you guys!!! Having the car for so long means a lot! Most people will change cars whenever a new model appears. Love for the 930 has indeed come a long way!!!

I came across an old Porsche ad from 1978. It shows all the cars of that period the 924, 911SC, 928, and 930 and it mentions MSRPs for each. The 911SC was a little under $18,000, while the 930 was nearly twice the price at a little over $34,000. Although, with some additional extra cost options prices could easily go up from there.

Ferrari prices for the 328GTS in '87 was around $72,000, in 88 around $78,000 and in '89 $84,700. However, in 1989 these cars were selling for more than the MSRP by $10,000 - $20,000 and by the fall and into early 1990 before the exotic car bubble burst new 89s were selling for $60,000 over the list price.
In 1989, I believe the MB 560SEC carried a list price of around $80,000, but there was a significant amount of room to negotiate the price on the MB.
