Cool thread! I wish I had my window sticker. CAD$50K for the slant-nose conversion! And Arrccod, looks like your cars have a very nice living area - I'd love to do that for mine.

The MB was expensive, but it was not a car that was difficult to locate or buy when new. They could be bought with a healthy discount when new. In addition, most MBs especially from that era have been used as daily drivers and will have a lot more mileage than most Ferraris or 930s.

My '89 930 was $73,500 brand new, I was lucky the previous owner kept the original window sticker and passed it along to me.

Its amazing that you can pick-up a mint fairly low mileage 560SEC for $10K-$12K now-a-days. The SEC cars are beautiful and have aged well especially those with the tasteful AMG or Lorinser body kits. A good buy today and a tank that will keep going and going. Not a very powerful car by today's standards, and a V6 Camry is considerably faster but still a rewarding car to drive none the less.

Yasin

So, from what I see the price of these cars has dropped by just under half in most cases.... that's not bad for a 22+ year old car. What can you buy today and say that 22yrs later? Than again the american muscle cars have gone up from new in some cases by 10 fold... I don't get it.

When the first Turbos appeared in north Texas in the summer of 76 I saw one at the dealers for 34,700 full leather and air were the major options I can recall.
