Best wishes to you and your family Stephen in this terrible recession.
+1

If the shops have not used these forums as resources for checking who they are dealing with I bet they will after this tragedy.

This is definitely a sad day. Stephen built my car and in the years I have known him he has been nothing but professional and courteous. He would spend all kinds of time explaining what my car needs, troubleshooting from hours away and giving me overall great advice on what I needed to do with my car.

I hope all works out for you and your family Stephen....and if you end up somewhere else with porsches I have an orange pumpkin and 5K of cash that needs to go into it for upgrades

Well thats just **** news. Sorry to hear this Stephen.
Like most, I have had nothing but top service/products from Stephen over the years.
People with this nature will always come through in the end. I wish you all the very best.

Being in Kansas, he was the ONLY person I trusted my car with..... There isnt anywhere in Wichita I know of that would handle a car like this. My car has currently been running iffy for over a year and i've let it sit in the garage for the chance I'd have time to trailer it up over finding someone local to mess with it.

IA was on board MANY years ago...WAY before there were forums, only a listserv. Super helpful, a legend - yes, a legend of sorts.

Jeepers, what a shame and a shocker. Young guy who did good things.

Kaspar has had his issues, but he's no crook as some here (pelican and 6speed) want to say. My car was at his shop wayyyy to long a year or so ago. I was by no means a happy camper as she sat in development for almost 2 years, but a crook? no way. Having IA go out of business is bad stuff, but its only the tip of the iceberg in terms of what he has been dealing with for the past 18 months. These posts are kind of like history books: the authors sculpt the history and tell the story with little room for second opinions. I hope PhD gets his life and family back on track, and then gets back in the saddle from a business perspective.

Uh Stephen or anyone that can contact him....

I don't know where my car is. The shipping company is coming friday the 1st or monday the 4th (I couldn't get anything sooner for a reasonable price), but he closed his shop on the 27th and my phone calls to the shop are not going through (I assume the number is disconnected). I hope my car isn't just sitting outside, but I have no way of knowing since he hasn't responded to my last e-mail sent a couple days ago. I also need a phone number he can be reached at since the shipping company needs to coordinate with him.

THANKS for any and all help.

I sent one Monday and have been waiting. Either I missed one that you sent, although I'm not finding it on gmail when searching, or you missed mine. Must be a simple mix up.

Stephen - Best of luck. The excellent reputation you have here and with many long time customers will transcend the present situation. Look forward to your continued posts here when you're ready.

Iam with Fiftyfive on that. You have so much valuable knowledge and a great rep to say nothing of a viable game plan with performance packages etc. and many customers and possible customers. My goal was the Big Bad package with the RS rebuild etc. You are one of the valued assets in your industry. Good Luck

You have an e-mail. I still need a phone number for the shipping company to contact you. Please get back to me ASAP.

EDIT: The car is on it's way home.
