Default EFI bug again

I think i am getting the efi bug again the Engine will be coming out this summer for some work pretty much completely apart to fix some leaks. everything that i didn't take apart myself when i did the top end rebuild now leaks. should have just spit the case and resealed everything. I bought a 3.2 intake a while ago from someone here. it was great deal it has the fuel regulators fuel rails and all the injectors. Any way I was looking at the kit that they have at GSF. and was wondering if anyone here has used it. I have a set of his headers and am very Happy with them. Also autohause has their own pistons and cylinders they advertise better than mahle and a little higher compression. I was wondering if anyone here has used them. This last issue with the fuel head has me thinking again and every time I go out to my garage that intake is there looking back at me lol. would love to hear input from any on here that has made the switch. I want to do it myself not pay someone else to do it.

I had wayne at TPG do my EFI with DTA system and love his work.. He sells the kit for DIY then you can take the car to him for Dyno tuning if you need a tuner. I was thinking of installing his kit myself but what he was going to charge me was a no brainer to have him do it.
Here is a link he is in south Fl http://www.tpgproducts.com/

The more time I waste with POS CIS, the more passionately I hate it.

I say.. GO FOR IT!!

After building my crazy 3.6 EFI project I wonder what I was thinking. It's bloody fantastic but man that was expensive.

Build photos here...

If I had it to do again, I would install a chipped 993TT motor from a wrecker and live happily ever after... That would be a very nice upgrade indeed.

Great looking build Peter. What turbo did you go with and what kind of power are you developing?

It's a K29. It's tired and needs a rebuild. I will probably swap it for a K27-HF2 when it finally dies.

It's not been to a dyno since the bugs were all worked out but based on the last time and extrapolatin with the data logger, at least 600hp and 550ftlbs. The torque is just silly. Because of the higher compression and EFI the torque is available everywhere. It's not like CIS at all.

I did a EFI on my 3.6T engine
Did not open the engine or remove it from the car.
I used Pat williams kit on stock manifold.
55llb injectors , MSD ,dizzy,Tial,GHL headers,Custom quick spool ITS Turbo. Custom intake.
Haltech ECU Very nice. all tricked out.

426 RWHP
487 TQ !!! on A Mustang Dyno (No Bull)

Car is set up for DE and street legal
Car runs great. it wasn't easy to get everything to work. And it was quite expensive.

Now I might have to sell (Sad about it) and I'll never get my money out of it.
So if you do it plan on keeping it . or buy mine and save a lot of time ,problems and money.

Trust me, it is cheaper to buy his than build a new project. It always snowballs, you just don't have a choice in the matter, see above, new seats, roll bar etc, etc...

Probably by a factor of 2.

Though buyer beware a bit. The more power they make, the sooner they need to be rebuilt. I have 8 years on my motor now and it will have to come out for a freshening soon. You don't get 600hp and 100,000 miles between rebuilds in the same motor.

I spent many months and $$$K trying to get my 600hp 3.3 Turbo EFI motor (in a black 85 930) where it starts every time, idles well, passed emissions testing, and accelerates smoothly. I never go there. It would work great for a while but then a month later it would need tuning again. I sold it to a person with MUCH more experience than I and he spend 9 months trying to solve all the issues and then sold it with some still unsolved.

It ran great (really really great) at times but then half the time it did not run well at all.

Be very careful about going down this path. If you get it done it will be fantastic but the odds of successful completion are against you.

Tuning should not really be an issue. With regularity, I tune the cars 3 hours on a dyno and spend a week with them on and off testing cold start and fine tuning drivability. I never see them again. However, I use a good ECU with years of experience with the compensation tables to ensure it runs under all conditions.
