Default a labor of love

A month ago, I picked up another 930. This one has a fresh 3.4 with lots of mods. The unfortunate part is the car was really neglected. She was a labor of love and definitely worth the time I put into cleaning her up in the past month.

- buffed out the paint
- polished the chrome Fuchs, but they were too far gone. I swapped rims off my 79 turbo.
- stripped off the old faded, torn tint
- dyed the door tops, rear 1/4 panel tops, steering wheel, top and bottom of the dash. I went for a 2 tone look.
- added Euro lenses
- cleaned up the exhaust tips
- fastened the center console to the trans tunnel
- seats will be changed out with Carrera seats
- H4s will be swapped when I bring my Carrera cab from my other house

Mechanical stuff to be worked on
- oil leak
- reweld cracks in the header welds

Some of you might remember me saying I prefer to drive my Carrera cab instead of my 79 turbo, but this 86 has changed my mind! It is a blast to drive this baby!

Wow, Agreed!! All that in a month... you have no idea the trouble you have just caused in my household. All home, and honey-do list BS is out the window and it's off to the garage where I belong!!

Thanks for posting/motivating!!

I had leftover Color Magic Savanna Beige dye from my 996. I like the subtle brown instead of the orangeish brown that was stock.

Thanks for the compliments.

Bryan,
Where did you find this one? The Owner of the Twin of your 79' drove my 88' the other day, said there was a great difference in handling.

The car was on Craigslist. Not sure if there is a difference in handling between the 79 and 86, but for some reason, I am more comfortable driving the 86.
