Yep I drive mine everyday, and yes sometimes the harsh ride and bumpity bump of expansion joints gets old. Then I climb in my wife's Lincoln for a trip to the store or down to my folk's place, and it all instantly becomes crystal clear why I own a 930.
And you know...when I climb in the 930 at days end and point her home...I instantly forget all about work....nice side benefit.

Remember, cash is temporary, regret lasts forever!

Default You Will Regret It if You Sell it!

I had a 79' 930 that was tastefully modded and sold it a few months ago as I had an 07' Corvette and was a bit bitter over some maintenance costs to the 930. Well, three months later I regret selling it and walla!... there sits a different 930 in the garage parked next to the Vette. Driving a 930 compared to the Vette is uncomparable. A 930 is truly in a class of it's own. Appreciate it and drive it! And if your like me, just get a different type of sportscar to satisfy another experience.

The first 930 is the one I sold, the second is my current one, the third pic is my 07' Z51 Corvette. Life is great!!!!

Well I did it! While many people pressured me to sell, I bought a 928S4, after considering a Volvo T5R, Subaru Legacy, or (god forbid) a Mitsubishi Evolution.

She is beautiful and cheap. I bough her almost sight unseen over an auction site and drove it 12 hours from southern Japan to Tokyo 1200km. She took on a new Audi RS4, passing it at 240kph!! Rennlist has been invaluable in resolving many of the issues she had. The 928s complexity really detracts from the overall experience. Why 5 temperature sensor!@???
Soon after getting the 928 I took the 930 on a 4 day tour of Japanese historical and cultural sites. She performed flawlessly. I stopped by the Ruf shop. Saw that BTR again. Sorry I cant justfiy $70,000 for a BTR. CTR maybe but not BTR. Since I could spend about $5000 on my 930 and have it run circles around the BTR.
While the 930 is loud, brash, teeth grinding, nail biting, bump, and narcissistic, the 928 is quiet, calm, relaxing, smooth and demure. Too completely different ladies which need tending to.
Boy I need another 2 or 3 real women to be more normal.

I am the opposite of burned out.

I am like a kid in a candy shop.

My wife and I are having weird ideas about all kinds of porsches filling up the driveway.

Rob- glad to see you didn't bail out on us, I'm sure you will be happy with the 928. She is a totally different experience. As far as 2 or 3 more real women, be careful what you wish for.... You think porsches are expensive to maintain.

cheers, Mike

I have been lucky or smart enough to avoid the high maintenance girls (err) and cars.
Now I just have to resist the tempation to spend more money on them. I need to save money!!!

I guess there are some advantages to putting the car away for the winter. You long for it for 6 months, then you enjoy driving it all summer, and if, God forbid, you get tired of it, it's probably about time to put it away for the winter again.

Umm, high maintenance girls would be cheaper but not as fun! Have fun on the slippery slope. I have my 930 with a built 3.4 for rude, obnoxious fun, and my 965 for a quieter, more comfortable time.

I don't really drive my car as much lately. I just like having it around. It is a family member.

I think you have to realize that the 930 is still the most interesting car out there and can compete with any car if you set it up right.

I have been car shopping lately and all roads lead back to the early 911/930 for me. If anything I have become more interested in even older Porsches than my 1976.
