930 Paint color dilemma?

When you bead blast a car of that vintage, does that affect the integrity factory rust proofing. I have a '78 which I would like to get stripped and repainted, but I am concerned that it will start rusting after I mess with the steal.

Media blasting sheet metal heats it up, and puts the surface metal into compression causing it to warp.
It also removes some metal making it thinner which is not good.
It's OK for small areas and parts that won't warp, be damaged, or get stripped of the zinc or cad plating.
The chassis should be chemically stripped of paint, seam sealer, and rust if getting it all off is whats desired.
There are places that specialize in doing that and then the chassis is primed with a static charged epoxy primer which gets into all the hidden places spraying paint with air pressure won't reach... so humidity doesn't start rusting it again right away.

Well there is several colors for my self that i prefer but since I'm not keeping
this one i will go back with black. I called PCNA and after i provided info that i do indeed own this car, they were willing to give me the build option including paint code, which is black. They also told me for about $115.00 i can get papers of authenticity which i do believe is nice to have. I do thank all that responded to my question. It is always get to hear Evey ones thoughts.

For the matter of media blasting to chemical dip. Media is nothing like sand it does not scratch the metal, it is used with low psi 10-14psi matter of fact you can use in on fiber glass safely. With chemical you have to make sure you get the residue off complete in every nook and cranny or the paint will not stick . Also there is the cost difference to take into consideration.

I had my car media blasted with baking soda which is the same stuff they use on your teeth. It does not warp or scratch the metal. In fact if you have any rubber or tape left on the car it wont take it off. It is messy so be prepaired to do some vacuuming when you are trough. If you keep the same color then you don't have to do a lot of the hard to reach places. And no, it does not take the rust proofing off. The body zinc coating is still intact.

graphite metallic is a terrific color. looks kind of like black until you park next to a black car. metallic flake is terrific in the sun and reflects all kinds of beautiful hues. my 951 is graphite and ive seen a 959 in the same color and its stunning. i dont believe 930s ever came in the color??

Grand Prix White of course! A friend in FLA has a Pearl White (met) 930 over coco interior that looks very sweet as well. The newer Iris Blue met is cool too. In less light it looks violet and more, light blue.

Consider Orange, like the Jagermeister 934 and 935's. I think that color is rare and awesome looking on a 930. I think the Porsche color was Signal Orange?
You need to consider the color of the interior carpetting as well when making a change. You want it to match well with the paint color.

The best shade of black that I've ever seen/owned is BMW cosmos black metallic. It is absolutly stunning. I had some mixed up to paint one of my race bikes that color and there are 7 different flakes and pearls in it. extremely subtle, but extremely incredible.

Even with the factory paints the right buffing and a high quality wax can make a black car shine like no other. I use the Zaino show car polish and after 3-4 passes it looks like a mirror. Sure it's expensive but you get what you pay for!
Go Black- buff often!

Since your intent is to sell the car, I would most likely opt for the original color. Black is such an awesome color anyway...you can't go wrong.
If you were keeping the car then I would say, choose something that you really like...
Good luck with your choice...
